4th guitar- Koa Petroglyph

Here are some shots of guitar number 4.  Finally near completion, it is my first ever commission.  I’ve worked hard to make it as error-free as possible and I think it turned out well.

Specs-

25.5″ scale neck.  One piece Koa bound, carved top.  One piece curly Brazilian mahogany back.  5 piece koa and walnut glued in neck with deep tenon.  Hot hide glue used throughout for all major joinery.  Hand wound pickups on hand made Ipe wood bobbins.  Hand machined bocote pickup covers.  Hand turned bocote knobs.  Compound radius (10″-12″) bocote fretboard.  Waverly (made in USA) slot head tuners.  Translucent buffalo horn nut.  Jason Z. Schroeder bridge (made in USA).  Abalone shell dots and headstock inlay.  Headstock inlay of Hawaiian flying bird petroglyph hand cut and hand seated in koa veneer headstock.

Weight- 6 lbs, 7 oz.
